Taking the lead in the delivery of health services in Atimonan is the Rural Health Unit (RHU) stationed at Barangay Zone 1-Poblacion. Satellite health services are provided by eight (8) barangay health centers located in Barangays San Isidro, San Andres Labak, Balubad, Lubi, Malusak, Malinao Ilaya, San Rafael and Caridad Ibaba.

 

Supplementary to the services being delivered by the RHU and barangay health centers are those provided by Dona Marta Memorial Hospital, a 50 bed capacity District Hospital being operated by the provincial government and the privately-owned Emil-Joana General Hospital and a number of private medical and dental clinics within the poblacion.

The public health personnel in Atimonan is comprised of six (6)  public health physicians and four (4) private practitioners, ten (10) public health nurses, fifteen (15) rural health midwives, one (1) dentist, one (1) pharmacist, two (2) medical technologists,  one (1) rural sanitary inspector. There are two hundred fifteen (215) active barangay health workers and thirty (30) trained hilots.
