Profile: Population Size and Growth Rates

The population of Atimonan grew at average growth rate of 2.04% from 1903 to 1948. Its average growth rate decreased to 0.94% in 1960-1970, and exhibited accelerating pattern of population growth of 1.27% in 1975-1980. It leaped up to 3.27% from 1990-1995, the highest since 1903. The fluctuating pattern of population growth continued in 1995-2000 with 0.89% growth rate and continued to decrease in 2000-2007 with the rate of 0.61%.

 

For the period 1980-1995 the fastest growing barangays in terms of population are Barangays Caridad Ibaba, San Isidro, Angeles, Tinandog and Caridad Ilaya.

Meanwhile, the slowest growing barangays are Barangays Manggalayan Bundok, Matanag, San Jose Balatok, Montes Balaon and San Andres Bundok, all of which indicated negative population growths.
