The main sources of potable water for the people are the numerous natural springs and water shed areas of the municipality and in other underground water (deep wells) sources in the urban area.

A small portion of the municipality is being serviced by pipe water system under the Atimonan Water District, with water source coming from a natural spring at Brgy. Malinao Ilaya, Malinao Ibaba, Magsaysay, Tinandog, San Isidro and Tagbakin.

The Malinao water source is being run by gravity and source capacity varies with the different seasons of the year. During summer, the spring cannot supply the needs of the six (6) barangays.

In the poblacion, majority of the population has artesian wells and electrically driven deep well pumps. However, last year, 2000, Atimonan Water District started their pipe connections in the poblacion with water source at Saluyot I and II Barangay Sta. Catalina.

On the other hand, people in the barangays depend on the different small spring, water shed areas scattered along the mountainous areas, and some selected barrages have communal faucets under the spring development program of both the national and local government.
