Atimonan's Tagultol Fishing Festival is one of the many festivals celebrated in the country. Tagultol is a popular fishing method used by Atimonanins. The word TAGULTOL was derived from the Tagalog word UGTOL meaning bounce. In the old days, Tagultol fishing material was made up of a rectangular stone tied at the end of a long abaca string dip in honey. Thorns of calamansi and similar plants were tied 2 feet above the stone. Worms, small fish or shrimps were used as bait then dipped in water in a bouncing movement.

The five-day festivity coinciding the town fiesta and Feast of Patron Nuestra Senora de los Angeles starts July 29 until August 2 of every year. The event is a showcase of the rich culture of Atimonan, a display of the versatile talent, beauty, expertise and agility of the Atimonanins.
